Hello. I am Ray Davis (SoulerFlare) a writer, poet, and thinker living in Kansas. SoulerFlare is a term I coined when I created my first ID back in the early days of Yahoo! The word, a combination of the astronomical term “solar flare” and the word soul, quickly took on a deeper meaning for me. It evokes the unimaginable energy of a massive eruption on the surface of a star and the yet more astonishing power and light that emanates from the core of every human being on this planet.

By day I write sales training for a Fortune 40 company. By night, I am developing a website called The Affirmation Spot.

The idea behind the website is to offer people downloadable mp3 affirmations that target specific life areas and life pursuits. I have been writing, recording, and using affirmations for more than 15 years. They have been an invaluable tool in my own journey.

Louisburg is about 20 miles outside of Kansas City. I live here with my wife of 8 years, April, my grown step-children, and our black lab Mia.

As early as I can remember, I always saw life in ways different from those around me. It has gotten me into trouble over the years, but  I relish having a little different perspective.

My own journey of discovery began in earnest when, at 25, I wound up lying in a hospital bed 98 pounds and with electrolyte levels that should not have supported life.

After a six week recovery, I was inspired to embark on my own search for truth. I was no longer content to limit my thinking or my experience to the narrow avenues that it had been confined to at that point.

I began reading Joseph Campbell's The Hero With A Thousand Faces and learned of my affinity for Eastern Philosophy. I read voraciously for several years learning all I could about Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, and new thought.

Seth Speaks and later The Celestine Prophecy and Conversations With God all seemed as sychronicities in the timing of their appearance in my life. My horizons began to open and I pulled away from everyday life and went within.

Well, after a few years of that, my “professional life” was in a shambles. I decided it was time to try to find the balance between the spiritual and temporal sides of my existence.

I made career, friends, and family my primary focus. Eventually, this process led to meeting my wife, obtaining a good job with a Fortune 100 company, and a life squarely in the temporal realm.

For the past couple of years, I have felt that yearning inside to rebalance and find away to reincorporate my life mission and balance it with my temporal life.

My Aha Moment came during a trip to Hawaii earlier this year. I rediscovered that the time to follow our dreams always right now and so I am committed to creating a happy, balanced, and conscious life that benefits the other people who share this planet with me as much as it benefits me.

My hope is that my affiliation with Zaadz is one step on the road to that goal.
